The Aotea Family Support Group Charitable Trust

The Support Group is a Great Barrier Island community-based organisation, in a community proudly taking care of our own.

Our aim: “Giving every island resident the opportunity to live healthy, fulfilling, independent lives, and to fully participate in the community.”

He aha te mea nui i te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata. – What is important? It is people, it is people, it is people.

Since 1988 the Trust has been  providing the residents of Great Barrier Island with a range of social services, resources, and organised events.

The work of the Support Group is made possible through financial assistance from Oranga Tamariki / the Ministry for Children, the Ministry of Social Development, the ASB Community Trust, the Lottery Grants Board, the Auckland Council / Great Barrier Local Board, and the Department of Internal Affairs with the Community Organisations Grants Scheme. as well as Our Supporters and Our Partners.
