New Year’s Picnic 2020

The Island’s longest running annual event, the New Years Picnic, is now just around the corner. 80 years ago this event was an annual local sports day where families island wide would travel to catch up socially and watch the fiercely contested races.

Monthly senior activity

Once a month on a Friday, seniors are invited to planned outings exploring different corners of the island. The calendar for 2019 includes trips to the Mermaid Pools, Paddy Forsyth’s quirky gardens,  and a ‘blustery winter walk’ on Awana Beach. Transport provided. Over 60s events: Good food and good company

Every month the Over 60s events visit a different venue on the island. The programme for 2018 includes meals at the Barrier Social Club, Orama, the Sports Club, the Golf Club, Mt St Paul’s Estate, Kawa Marae, the Stray Possum and the Port Fitzroy Boating Club. Find out more on the Events page.
