The Aotea Family Support Group Charitable Trust

The Support Group is a Great Barrier Island community-based organisation, in a community proudly taking care of our own.

Our aim: “Giving every island resident the opportunity to live healthy, fulfilling, independent lives, and to fully participate in the community.”

He aha te mea nui i te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata. – What is important? It is people, it is people, it is people.

Since 1988 the Trust has been  providing the residents of Great Barrier Island with a range of social services, resources, and organised events.

The work of the Support Group is made possible through financial assistance from the Ministry of Social Development, the ASB Community Trust, the Lottery Grants Board, the Auckland Council / Great Barrier Local Board, and the Department of Internal Affairs with the Community Organisations Grants Scheme. as well as Our Supporters and Our Partners.
